Paid sick leave is a nice perk.
Employers aren’t required to offer it in New York State, with the exception of New York City, which passed its own paid-sick-leave law.
But as sick leave gets national attention with President Barack Obama calling on Congress to pass legislation allowing workers to earn up to seven paid sick days a year, employers may want to take a closer look at their paid-time-off benefits.
